Throwback Jewelry Photos: Unique Item for Jewelry Making

Several years ago I spent a lot of time making jewelry using unique items you would not normally consider making jewelry out of, like the pair of earring above. I made them using brand new sponges you use in the kitchen to wash dishes or clean the stove and counters. I cut the sponges into small square to make sponge beads for the earring.

I made this pair of earring by using twisters from a package!

This pair of earrings I made by straightening paper clips, twisting two color together and twisting them into the shape I wanted for the earring.

I made this pair of earring be using two dog bone shape paperclips that I bought at a store.

This style of earrings may be one of my favorites I have made using unique items. I made this pair of earrings using brand new rubber bands you use in hair!

What type of unique items do you use when you make jewelry?

Bead Bundle Kits

Last week I sold my very first bead bundle kit in a big container.  The kit you see above sold for $50.00 with free shipping.   In the past I have made smaller kits with acrylic and resin beads geared towards jewelry making for children.  The kit in the picture is geared towards jewelry for adults.  It contained a mixture of glass beads, metal beads, clay beads, bone beads, seed beaded beads, leather beads and rhinestone beads.  Beads came are various sizes from 8mm to 20mm.

This video shows the beads up close.

'I plan on making more bead bundle kits in the near future.  If you would like to purchase them, comment below, send me an email, follow me on social media for updates when they are ready for purchase, or check out my website for frequent updates in the "New" section.

DIY Keychain Holder Display

In April of this year I set up a booth at the Strawberry Festival in Castleberry, Alabama. I needed displays for my jewelry and accessories, so I went to Pinterest to find a tutorials for making displays.  I found a display for earrings and thought it would be perfect to modify the display to use for displaying my handmade keychains.

Material:

1. Flower Vases.
2. Wooden Dowels.
3. Glass Stones.
4. Cloths Pins.

I filled the flower vases half way with decorative glass stones, next I sat a wooden dowel in the center of the vase and added more glass stones around it to hold the dowel in place.  Next I added cloths pins to the wooden dowels.

For this display I added more cloths pins.

One display filled with my keychains!
