Handmade Gifts I Made My Parents for Christmas

This year I enjoyed making handmade gifts for my Daddy and Mama in addition to the store bought gifts I bought for them. Here are pictures of what I made them.

I took this stainless steel beadable cake slicer and added metal spacer beads that have rhinestones embedded in them. I used three different color blue rhinestone spacer beads. I added the Number One Mom charm. I wished it would read "Mama" because that is what I call her, but I like how the cake slicer turned out, and so did my Mama.

A closer view!

I made my Daddy this key chain for Christmas.  I made my Mama a key chain for Mother's Day or her Birthday one that reads "Mommy's Girl."

I took this metal silver color pen with black ink and added black metal mesh beads and a silver micro pave black Cubic Zirconia bead.  I gave this to my Daddy. I made my Mama a pen earlier this year.

When I was a little girl my Daddy and Mama let me and my oldest nephew open one Christmas gift on Christmas Eve.   This year I told my Daddy and Mama the tables have turned and now that I am grown I wanted to give them a gift each on Christmas Eve, so I gave them my handmade gifts on Christmas Eve night and the store bought gifts Christmas morning.

Did y'all make any Christmas gifts this year? I would like to hear about them!

Happy March

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. You God anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

John 3:16 Inspired Keychain

I made this key chain several months ago and decided to keep it for myself instead of selling it.

My YouTube Channel

I have a YouTube Channel. I created it last year and uploaded a few videos.
After I uploaded those few videos, I did not upload anymore until this week.
I am still learning how to film videos and work my way around having my own YouTube channel.
I have not begun to learn how to edit my videos yet.

I do not have my own YouTube channel URL yet, because YouTube requires you to have at least 100 subscribers before you can have your own YouTube channel URL.

If you would like to view my videos and become a subscriber search for TheMardiRobyn on YouTube or click here to go directly to my channel.

Feel free to comment on videos, I will reply!

2 Chronicles 7:14

Let us remember this, today and everyday.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

A Friendly Rant

~*~Posted to my Instagram earlier this morning~*~

I rarely rant on Instagram but I want to get the record straight. Yes I started a boutique and now merged it with my business Mardi Robyn. No, I am not copying anyone.

The boutique has been a plan and a goal I worked towards for almost two years. Right now I order from 5 different wholesale suppliers. One I have been a member of for two years, it's popular among boutique owners.

The fact that I have been deleted and blocked because of it shows insecurity in your own business affairs. You can't expect to buy wholesale and act as if the website is a treasure only known to you. Sorry it isn't, hundreds of sellers know about and purchase wholesale from them. That isn't copying, that's just a fact.

I'm secure enough in my business I won't block and delete anyone unless you are being rude and disrespectful. It's also natural for people to have the same followers. You like a photo, your friends sees it, they follow the person whose photo you liked. That's called networking.

To many businesses are being cut throat and acting like they are the only ones around. Get over yourself. It is a big world. There is room for everyone. We can all reach customers others cannot. You can't reach all the billions of people by yourself.

Don't misunderstand if it is your original design that you came up with, without any inspiration from someone else's design, then yes it is right to be upset when someone is copying you exactly. But, when you buy wholesale jewelry and get mad when other people buy it to, that's childish.

I have been buying and collecting wholesale jewelry for my boutique for a long time in preparation for its opening. If that causes another to be jealous that we sell the same things, well tough. I'm not copying you.

Personally I'm all for supporting each other and making our customers happy, not competing with competition we have made up in our heads. I hope we all make it.

Monday Morning Post

It is ten minutes til' 7:00a.m. and I am drinking a chocolate boost, while searching for packaging supplies on Etsy and wishing for sleep.   The zpack I am taking for bronchitis has kept me awake since 9pm.  Funny during the day it made me sleepy, I would nap for a couple of hours, wake up for a little while and go back to sleep.

There are so many packaging ideas and resources available. I am trying to find my look for my business. Something simple, yet eye-catching that screams "Mardi Robyn!" I haven't found it yet, but I will.

Blues, browns, stickers, duct tape, washi tape, ribbon, organza bags, I like it all but I have not figured out just what my branding style is when it comes to packaging my jewelry.

Do you sell handmade items on the world wide web? Any packaging tips you would like to share? I would enjoy reading them!  I like gaining new ideas.

Last night started the Surprise Pre-Thanksgiving Sale in my shop. www.MardiRobyn.com  I have over 1300 handmade jewelry items to choose from, and will be adding more throughout the day, as well as the rest of the week.    The Pre-Thanksgiving Sale lasts until next Monday.
